Mrs. DeYoung is conducting speech screenings with Prairieview and Lakeview students who have transferred into the district this year. The purpose of the screening is to identify those students who may benefit from speech therapy services. She has also met with third graders who received speech intervention at Elizabeth Ide last year. Mrs. DeYoung will contact parents of students who did not pass the screening and may be eligible for speech intervention. Students in grades 3-8 who have an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) in place for speech services will begin therapy sessions this week (August 30-September 3). Parents will be notified of days and times their child is scheduled to see Mrs. DeYoung.
